They've given us the opportunity to republish and keep the reviews, ratings and continue to support existing players. Got away with a stern warning and a day of cold sweat, crying and self-destructive behaviors. Awesome, so good to hear this. So the problem was they felt you were using Pirates! as a reference point? How unusual, does Google usually unilaterally remove apps without any warning? Maybe you guys should look at rewording all of your app descriptions to make it perfectly clear you are making games like the inspirational games? I never really felt you were using your inspirational games in a wrong or misleading way but... well... Google obviously doesn't agree. Whew. Nice dodge TB!

We are looking at all our application descriptions and removing references to other games.
It will hurt our sales probably, but ... better to bleed than to die =)

We are looking at all our application descriptions and removing references to other games. It will hurt our sales probably, but ... better to bleed than to die =) Everyone knows that devs use other games as keywords. If you put 'fans of Mass Effect and Elite will especially love this' in ST, it's a potential keyword hit for the millions of people that come to the Play store and search for those terms. LOADS of devs apply this cheeky method and get away with it, why pick on you? Conversley, it is an underhanded tactic which doesn't suit the Brothers, so I'm glad those kind of references will be going!

I'm so glad it was resolved, but I am still very angry about it. All this pent up frustration and I can't unleash it on Google ... Gonna go hunting for Steel Song now

Thanks for all the nice words. The appeal worked and the game has been re-instated. Let's stay positive, and thank the Google Gods.

I was actually thinking of making an app for google but now I'm not sure i really want to The funny thing is, I keep thinking the same thing about Amazon's App Store. Frankly, I'm not sure either option appeals to me right now. If you make a mobile Desura, they will come.
