xdesperado: It seems there is consensus for removing it here. I'll remove it right away.

I think we should assign plenipotentiaries for each 10-turn segment. (or someone that can act without the full council approving; could also be called president, etc) I say En1gma next turn. Whatsayyou?

I like the idea, but we still need to have consensus. I took the liberty of acting to finalize strategic placements of our rear colonies with the Javat Clan, but only because this was the logical step to take- SS would have no need for those colonies, so it was up to us to cement that portion of our turn plan.
Therefore, while it would be ideal for one person to be able to act alone, I'm not sure this would work in the long run, as I feel like this removes some of the diplomacy involved in our job here. One person must be the voice, yes, but that voice needs to be unified and premeditated.

Yeah, that was my primary concern. More like a diplomat that could make decisions before ratification and present them to the other houses? That the council could overrule?

xdesperado, dragolord, lixxx235, and other delegates of the Thulun Senate. Clan Javat has expressed a want for the Baza system, which lixxx235 had said we had an interest in. Personally I feel we have no need for this system in particular- we have enough systems in the center of the sector. I feel we should ask for one other fringe planet on the outer rim, then colonize the rear planets as previously discussed. What is the will of the House on this issue? My vote is for allowing Javat to have the Red Giant Baza, as they have expressed a want for these stars in particular and I feel we have zero need for it.

lixxx235- the main thread is where I feel we should only post consensus ratified votes and motions . Putting votes for ratification that are incomplete or not fully agreed upon makes us seem weak in front of the other houses. We can all put motions up in that thread, but to present them in such a finalized appearing manner makes it seem like our final vote. Perhaps we could put a blurb saying that these are open for debate and discussion, to remove any confusion from the other houses.

Representative from SS here. I personally agree that Baza should go to Javat. While I'd like to allow the other clans to lay claim to whichever systems they'd like, currently it appears that there are very few border worlds available for Steel Song to defend. Only Ursae Outpost has not been mentioned, I believe. There are a few more nice, high quality systems on the inside we could take and sit comfortably in, but it would make us feel a bit uneasy on the off chance the aliens appear any time soon near the other clans. Ogvidissio is not on the newest Templar map, but if I remember correctly there is has a high chance of it becoming an importance tactical location for Steel Song should the Xeno be located to the south or southeast. Although we would prefer high quality systems of course, Ogvidissio is very far out and would be a prime location for the Xeno to start attacking.
I'd also like to bring attention to the lack of scouting to the east of our current colonies. If the aliens are nearby, it would be preferable to detect them with our cruisers than have them discover our home worlds. In any other case, it will help find new systems for us to expand to and especially ones that will be better suited for Steel Song to set up border defenses on.

So then, squee, what does the SS recommend for colonization? If we agree to further exploration to the west, we must be cautious tonot awaken theXeno to our presence. I'm willing to vote it, if only to expand the area of influence for the Song. What say you Houses?

I move that Leiwin be colonized as soon as possible, and that the Colony Ship currently in production be directed to either Jahant 6 or Ursae Outpost with the other being given to Steel Song to secure the upper approaches to our core worlds.
I further move that we refrain from any further Colonization after that until our existing Colonies are stable and have solid infrastructure built.

I would propose Ogvidissio and Galantia, and maybe Chalicstine be given to the Song as potential Xeno risk colonies. Thulun is free to take Leiwin and any of the other systems they are claiming. I believe Javat had requested Galantia, so can we offer Outer Reach and Rift Trade World in exchange?

xdesperado I believe colonization was going to go ahead either way, and there was no request for furthur colonization in my vote. I think we should get a bigger map before exchanging planets, whatsayyou?

Upon furthering my studies of the quadrant map, it is my impression that squee was indeed correct to suggest further exploration to the west. Templar Command has advised me that they do not have capabilities to display the entire quadrant due to the massive file size it clearly encompasses. This exploration may yield the systems needed by the SS to truly solidify our standings as a unified Assembly. What say you?
