I'm going to bed now..... Goodnight everyone. I did indeed mean East...... I'll see you all in the morning. I had wondered if the strain of running Tennath had broken you, actually.

My fellow esteemed Lords and Ladies of Great House Thulun, it appears that Javat is moving towards ceding their claim on Galantia to Steel Song. While this is at first look not of great importance to us I believe it might both be a possible cause of concern and tool we might leverage for our benefit in future negotiations. First in the matter of possible concern, looking at the map of the explored portion of our quadrant, if Steel Song is indeed granted rights to Galantia, Chalicstine and Ogvidissio they will have a very unified position with their worlds providing close mutual support and trade. Additionally the worlds Javat is seeking will offer them a similar unified position, albeit in a more protected region of Alliance space. Up till now we had been looking on how we might best support the Alliance as a whole, however I believe the time has arrived for us to start looking at securing our own interests and building a power base for our own military and economic defense. To that end I propose we press claims for Ursae Outpost, Jahant 6 and Ali's Star. These along with Tennath and Thulun Prime start to create our own sector of trade and military control. My fear is that if we do not make some sort of push to establish our own zone of influence, we will find ourselves getting pushed to the edges of Alliance territory and our strength in future negotiations greatly weakened by this. Letting the Song Mercenaries with their veterans take up position along our current front makes good tactical and strategic sense as does placing the more vulnerable mining operations of Javat in a sheltered rear. However we can not allow those things to hinder the prosperity and political well being of our own beloved Great House Thulun.
Respectfully Marquis XDesperado Minister of War and Sentinal of Truth

I concur. Given the continued posturing of the SS and Javat clans, I think it is wise to push for these the systems. The combined might of our five chosen systems will allow us to prosper. I move for ratification of the Marquis's motion in the Assembly as our plan for colonization in the near future. Perhaps when we meet with them later this day, this will be an easy measure to pass.

xdesperado - Javat isn't doing anything to bolster Javat's position within the quadrant. The planets suggested for Javat ocupation seem to make sense from a strategic view. For Steel Song, if you feel Steel Song is going to be too strong with both Gal and Chal, then please negotiate with them for one of the systems. Personally, I think it makes sense for Gal and Chal to go to Steel Song. I don't mind if you get the planets you are after if you are willing to cede your interest of Kaflenge to Javat.

slayernz this is something we will have to discuss further. Kalflenge may end up no longer being desirable for us so this may end up in your favor. xdesperado what then of our claim on Leiwen? We have not yet settled any colony on this planet. Do you think it prudent to still do so? Desirable as it is, it is very removed from the remainder of our systems and could therefore be a liability. Relinquishing our claim on it could give us leverage for implementing our newfound strategy, and could be used to our advantage.

En1gma I think we should continue pursuing our claim on Leiwen. Yes it is a bit removed from our other proposed holdings but it is a perfect spot for us to support Alliance forces and create a forward operations base. Perhaps when the core area is more fully settled and the Alliance seeks further expansion to the south it could become the cornerstone of our expansion in that region if suitable worlds are found. slayernz thank you for your interest in these affairs, while no clear intent for creating factional zones of influence may have been present, the fact remains that with the proposals being made such will be the effect. Further negotiations over claims on uncolonized planets is ddefinitely in order and I'm sure that equitable and reasonable accommodations can be reached that will satisfy all parties and serve to strengthen the Alliance as a whole. Respectfully Marquis XDesperado Thulun Minster of War and Sentinal of Truth Note for consideration of both my fellow Esteemed Nobles of Great House Thulun and the Javati ambassadors, perhaps a better bargaining position is if Javat were to support Thulun claiming Rift Trade World in exchange for our support of their claims on Kaflange.

Continued meditation of the sector has brought me to the opinion that perhaps Hell's Razor would be best suited to the SS, if only because of its location in the sector. As it stands, the worlds requested by both House Thulun and the Javat Clan outweigh those requested by the Song delegates. Hell's Razor is ideally located for the SS to guard that area, and to come to Leiwen's aid, should it come under assault. Any thoughts? Any from the delegations of Javat or the Steel Song?

Officer Genious slayernz squee xdesperado dragolord lixxx235 and any others I may have missed. You may be wondering why I've called you all here to Thulun Prime. I thought it best that we come together as a unified Assembly so that we might finalize our plans for colonizing the known areas and systems of the quadrant. If the delegates from Steel Song and Clan Javat could review the ledger and weigh in on the matter. We have a short twelve hours left for deliberation, so there is no better time than now to have this discussion.

lixxx235 dragolord xdesperadoForgive my repeated taggings of you today, but tonight there must be a vote in the Assembly. As my motion for a meeting of the minds has gone unheeded, this matter will assumingly wait until the next voting period. I am heading to bed, and will be unable to compose this evening's draft for the Templar Command. Whoever likes the idea of writing one up please, do so. We are all in agreement so far I believe, so whatever judgment is made I support wholeheartedly.

Greetings Thulun High Council,
Great House Javat has a request.
If we support you in laying claim to Rift Trade World , what say you to supporting Javat in claiming Kaflange?
Slayernz is currently on expedition and Ambassadors Brutus Aurelius and I are acting joined in his stead.

Honourable brethren. The worst has happened. The Xenos have colonised a world on the fringes of our empire, and they have discovered us. In a way, we must be thankful for the weak-minded arguments of our fellow Houses over planets, for if we had claimed Leiwin earlier we would have been worse off by far. As it stands, we have no idea how powerful or weak the Xenos are, and to rectify this situation, I shall request classified report on our foe to be made public.
