WOOOOOOOOOOOO NEW COMPONENTS! Exciting to think of how we can use these. (Although I don't get why an Engineering Annex would protect from morale damage.) Morale Damage generally comes from Crippling Effects or enemy talents. Knowing that there is extra layer of engineering support to keep the ship running is a morale bolster in combat. That would make sense if the Engineering Annex did provide an extra layer of engineering support to keep the ship running in combat, but its other bonus is a Safety increase, which, as far as I'm aware, doesn't affect combat at all.

I wonder just how combat effective a 2400 mass boarding ship can be with the new Steel Song bridge... I should try a Zartar Fang build sometime.

I just took a look at a contact that sells salvage rumors, and it says "There are no unknown salvage rumors at this time" even though I don't know any salvage rumors. Do salvage rumors simply not get generated for the first few years?

Started playing a Scav captain just to see how it would go. I'm three years in and I have yet to learn a salvage rumor from spicing, so I'm suspicious that Roughneck's effect (Scav captain trait -- 10% chance to learn salvage rumor while spicing) isn't working.

That's pretty strong. Mixing with blades is not uncommon to get offhand parry. Most captains like their Combat Medic in slot 3 and 4 to keep them out of the usual line of fire. Therefore, Spy is popular. So I'm admittedly ignorant of a lot of mechanics. So explain offhand blade to me. I know you have to have blade skill to equip one offhand but does it only block Melee attacks or does it contribute to defense from bullets as well? Parry only increases melee defense dice.

I think I've seen Darion post in the discord server about a CM/BH/MO build. Excellent buff and debuff options, but with such a low accuracy dice pool don't bother trying to do damage with it.

You can think of mass dampeners as a "penalty" for increasing jump costs on powerful ships.
Mass dampeners themselves also have some limited customization variety. For example, if you are focused on ship combat then you might want to choose mass dampeners that add Pilot and Electronics over ones that add Ship Ops and Nav.
You can often eliminate the need for a mass dampener or two by using low mass components, like having the Dual-Field Engine, or replacing Targeting Matrices or Defense Matrices with Sensor Arrays, etc.

The game does record what the price of goods are at a planet as of the last time you visited, but I don't recall how to access that list of prices. It's probably somewhere in the cargo screen.
