John Robinson i think you defined the model for sharing strategy/build paths amongst players. Thank you for sharing your insight and knack for logically breaking down approaches to strategy games.

I believe it's due to the trade law. If you go to the exchange and tap on the item, it will give you the reason for being unable to sell...

I'm still early in the game. Had 2 people that had mad skills at doctor, so promoted them... and haven't been upgrading the doctor talents via upgrade yet. couple screen shots below:

[iOS] CTD on blockade. Had a crew fatality card in the draw. Had been playing about 30 minutes, 3 missions... so pretty involved with the game and memory stacking at that point. Restart put me back on the same planet and I was able to complete the mission. Intercepter on Normal Difficulty. Level 7 Merchant. I can take screenshots if you think the bug isn't squashed. (plus, I've been hankering to say CTD) Ok, this is the exact crash grävling had. Can you check to see if you had a Doctor with the Lifesaver Talent? Seems like you might have. Nope. One doctor with Medical Staff

Hmmm. I'm often downtrodden (exaggerating) when only a few of a desirable item is available. Perhaps a quantity available column in the exchange screen would satisfy my situation and grävling ?

Yah, I consider myself a mid-range player and would normally select #2 (and normal difficulty, big ship). I imagine with a smaller ship, more personal experience in the game with certain professions, I'd be ready to step up the challenge and would lean towards #1, especially if I'm trying to specifically min/max certain areas quickly.
The beauty of the game is the amount of layers of complexity that CAN be explored, and manual selection from turn 0 would be something I'd enjoy (and liken to setting up an elaborate game board or picking the perfect RPG character setup). So would vote to keep all 3. Agree that certain players (esp new players) will have enough other things to learn, play, ponder, and WOULD appreciate having the 'table set for them'. Or at least the choice of doing so.
