New game, 1.2.19. I ran into a Xeno when going from my starting planet to the closest one with any contacts on it. YUM YUM YUM, but wasn't that not supposed to be happening any more?

I think that the name on the registry is 'Acute Angle'. They didn't pick this -- it was what the ship was called when they purchased her. The name is not popular; everybody agrees it needs changing, but they can never quite come up with something they can all agree on. Plus there is superstition about changing the name of the ship being bad luck. Whenever the topic of changing the ship's name comes up, the team has now settled into two deep ruts.
'Acute Angle. ... I've got a lot of Cute Angles ... I'll show you my cute angles ... Nobody's interested in your cute angles ...' 'Acute Angle. Acute Embarassment, more likely!'
Neither of which help, or get the name of the ship changed. So 'Acute Angle' she remains, until they can come up with something better. Something memorable. Something shared. The right name will turn up, and when they hear it, they will just _know_ ...

Will there be somebody you can hire engineers, from then?

Ah, but which of the two is 'later'? Next build will have Military Commanders giving us Engineers? Or next time fallen updates the wiki, Military Commanders will be listed as giving Gunners?

Good luck, let us know how it goes, brave badger! If you are in a Heavy Lift, when your crew reaches level 7, you can reduce the complement to 4/5 of them, and your ship runs just fine. Lots of Safety Protocol saves, but by the time the last dog uses his, the first one's has cooled off, and so it goes. Done this 3 times now, and while one of these captains meet an ignomous end as a bankrupt pauper, lack of crewdogs did not contribute to her problem. (Taking BH missions to catch people in the wilderness, because she only skimmed the mission brief, combined with being abysmally bad at Explore was her largest problem. New HL captains cannot afford to take many missions they then fail.) Therefore I think that John Robinson's Juror, Team Solar Clipper, which has 6 active crewdogs startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/16035/team-solar-clipper?page=1&scrollTo=190587 could swap 2 or 3 of them out for somebody else, should John wish to do that.

According to the wiki, the Military Commander gives you Engineer recruits. Mine wants to give me Gunners.
I hope the wiki is correct! I'd really like to hire my engineers as crew ...

I'm doing a mission like this one. (This is a second one I had in the list of jobs). It's just to show you what sort of mission I was on. It's not the exact mission that had the bug, just another of the same type. Spying went well. I got a positive result. Then things went weird. I was told to hit the mission button as usual. I got a screen that looked like this. Then I saw some cards get played inside the blank box besides 'Spy over Cameleon'. I wasn't quick enough to get a screenshot ... all this went rather quickly. Then the screen went back to this, which is what the screenshot captured. Pressed the Mission button again, got the 'end of this stage of your mission' screen as expected. This has happened exactly once, and I haven't been able to reproduce it. As far as I know, nothing odd happened as I spied, either. It was all routine.

Static Talks says: When Spying in the orbit of a system, learn a Rumor when scoring a positive result. This isn't a positive result. This is a wretched Pirate I have to fight. I wasn't looking for him.

s/129 Water-Fuel/129 units of Water-Fuel/ but the real question is, should this talent which is described as: When Spying in the orbit of a system, double all Intel Record rewards. be firing at all? Did I get twice as much water-fuel? I don't see any Intel Records here. So either a) the talent shouldn't have fired, or b) the talent description needs some rewording to reflect that it's not just intel that you get a double reward for. I'd vote for a).
