Templars will be able to attack sideways and backwards, and turn without spending any points.

Honestly for me, my main reason for never playing the game is just that the Templars movement scheme is cumbersome and gets in the way of me enjoying the game... If movement were to be optimized and not anything like it currently is , I'll gladly play it

Will the maps act like HoS, with traps and triggers and such?

Will the maps act like HoS, with traps and triggers and such? In some ways, they will be similar to HoS maps. In other ways, more similar to 4X maps.

CdrPlatypus - yes. The ship for AoE has sailed on CK1, so it won't be added, but its definitely in the cards for CK2.

The talk about pulling HOS mechanics over to TA2 sounds awesome. I love space hulk as much as the next guy, but imagining TA become a fully fleshed out sci fi "HOS" with all of the Tactical bells and whistles started in the original TA would be amazing.

For now Hydra is little bit too central in the campaign - it's doing like 60-75% of kills in my campaign. Another problem - there is no sensible upgrade path for Hydra - there is no benefits of upgrading weapon and the only useful armor is at the end of the game - 750 prestige. Importance of the heavy weapon is quite realistic actually - starting with WW2 line infantry main function is just protecting heavy weapon specialists. What I suggest is to add counter balance to Hydra - type of enemies dispersing sticky foam which extinguish flames and also immobilizing for 1-2 turn. Better Hydra weapon could produce flame more resistant to foam. Templars also could have specialist with foam dispenser.
Another wish is kind of big - random maps and meta-layer crossed with star trader - travel from start to star on the galaxy map and doing missions in the star systems

The TA2 Knights will be customisable and have unique talents. Will one of the new talent areas be a secondary skill of Combat Medic? Knights would be able to equip Med-packs or have integral Med-systems in their armour which would recover HP during a mission, or these systems could be activated by a Combat Medic for improved results.
After playing HoS and CK where you have the ability to heal during combat, coming back to TA and having a fixed HP allocation (notwithstanding the limited capabilities of the Chaplain class) can be frustrating.
