En1gma Thank you for your kind invitation. It is always interesting to visit our clan brothers and to see your facilities here.

We are certainly blessed to have Clan Zenrin's wisdom and experience speaking amongst our council. I must agree with the honorable bookworm21 that in this case, it appears that our noble Zenrin brethren are jumping at shadows and seeing xenos under their pillows. While the idea of xenos under our pillows should frighten any of us, it is not a sound nor profitable way to set our council's direction.

Objections have been raised to our Clan Moklumnue's proposal on the basis that it will consume too much of our time, but now we are asked to acquiesce to a Zenrin plan consisting of 50 more RP than our faction's tech. There is no profit in delay and while we dither in trying to approve some grand consensus in research our illustrious templar CdrPlatypus is sitting on his hands awaiting our decision.

The hand of Moklumnue has been consistently extended by our honorable representative sheff in the interest of compromise. The latest Zenrin proposal in council shows that they remember the word but seem to be unclear as to its meaning. As a motivation for us to accept carte blanche their research prerogatives, they offer us Faction Politics 3, a tech in which we have limited interest, and continue to defer both the requests of Alta Mesa and our own clan for Space Colonization 1.

It seems to me that we all need to take a respite from the grand schemes and just get the job done on Space Colonization 1. Then we can reevaluate.

Apologies, brethren, for mine absence. I, in short, agree also that the Moklumnue technology would take such a great length of time to research that it would be crippling, at best, and fatal at worst. We should pursue shorter-term goals with more concrete benefits.En1gma.

The Templar greets the honorable representatives of Alta Mesa with a request. There is a cluster of four systems to the west of our home quadrant (not up on current map...working on that hopefully soon). After the first level of improved colony modules is unlocked I would like you to found your next colony over there so we have a fob on our left flank. Thoughts?

Not opposed, but should our colonization effort fail in a similar fashion as the two Mok colonies, then we are up a figurative creek. I do foresee some political issues arising because of the discrepancy between the number of systems we all control, so perhaps we take the risk. What say you, Mesa?

I largely concur with En1gma, and in addition, I'd like the High Templar CdrPlatypus to adopt a procedure that, barring extenuating circumstances such as xeno emergency, the faction with the lowest number of colonies has the absolute right to colonize new systems up to the number of colonies that the second lowest faction has, at its discretion.

@l235 The colony counts should be kept relatively equal to lower the chance of negative political events, but rights to systems should still be debated.

In light of the most recent developments, colonising western worlds seems to be a very pressing issue. As we in Alta Mesa can not only produce warships faster, but can send out Colony Ships much more quickly as well, I think that we should lay claim to st least two of them. In respect to this, we should also send our Templars to guard those systems against Xeno infestation.

Assuming this proposal is to forcefully colonize westward, you have my vote.

This threat must be curtailed. and to stop the filth from colonizing worlds that lay on our doorstep. We must form a buffer zone to keep ourselves safe. We go... to war gentlemen. Our priority must be the colonization of the westernmost red system, followed by more of our own colonies, or those of the other factions- the other red and yellow systems MUST be controlled.

Alta Mesa requests to colonize more than one star system to keep the star count as even as possible, as well as keeping in mind the speedy ship construction afforded by Alta Mesa colonies close to the xeno.
