Probably Sure Parry,it lets you know that as long as its up no one can touch you(with melee attacks)
Needless to say, this is a hard one. The more I think about it harder it gets to choose:P

fallen are you trying to start a war? IMO it's ethereal anguish. Useful at any lvl of the talent, useful at all lvls of content, costs 2ap and when lvl ed reduces enemy accuracy for all attacks, up to -2ap, is a curse not a cursing attack so it is guaranteed to hit and can be fired over walls without line of sight. The - dodge is icing on the cake as there are a lot of other talents that reduce dodge as well

I don't think there is a single best talent. The synergies between many of them are too strong to be ignored. Also, how would you compare protection or healing against debuffing, attack and damage?
That said, there are a few extremely strong, if in some cases situational and item dependend, powers.
Kincaid's Sure Parry and Cunning Footwork Vraes' Phalanx Shield Vincent's Lightning Spear, Flash Freeze and Energy Storm Kjartan's Choking Ash Tam's Blacknight and Deadly Intuition Selen's Quicksilver Defense and Pinning Shot Fyona's Holy Strickening Kyera's Ethereal Anguish

Pinning Shot, hands down. Followed by Lightning Spear, Ash, and Strickening. In no particular order.

My team in Ep3 currently would be near 0 kills if it wernt for me forgetting to reapply Sure Parry on occasion. Choking Ash is right up there too. Not a fan of Kjarten otherwise but CA makes every battle easier.

New candidate. Precision Pick: without it the game would be boring... Just stuck in a cell waiting to die.

Choking ash would be my choice for the stand alone best talent in the game. It offers offensive power to everyone via more and harder hits, has an area of effect, and it can't miss. Also it reduces AP of monsters indirectly by killing anything that is cursed with it!

why ferocity? it eats too much SP to be effective, mine would be burst of speed and stone skin, UNSTOPPABLE WARRIOR FTW

tran - the trick to Ferocity is yelling "FEROCITY" loudly and fist pumping every time you use it. We've rigged the Android device to recognize this and give a 90% SP discount Stone Skin and Burst of Speed makes for a mighty Vraes! Everywhere and unstoppable.

You wouldn't want to use ferocity with a 1ap weapon. I've never tried this but...
2 3ap swords and ferocity? Would that make the SP cost more bareable? You're only taking the sp hit once a turn.
I've got two Vraes. One with 2 swords (a 1ap and a 2ap... I like 1ap weapons because you get to use ALL you points on fighting if you wish).
My other Vraes is using Phalanx Shield.
I love Phalanx Shield because most of the hits I take are from range weapons. Melee isn't usually a problem. Anything that will block range attacks or add to dodge is a huge boost.

Ferocity on Vraes when he is using a 2 AP in his main hand and a 3 AP in his off is amazing. 5 AP worth of Ferocity on the first hit, then a 2 AP follow up with CB just slaughters.
True story with the shouting 'FEROCITY!!!' by the way. It's an unmentioned permission that makes the game even more fun.
More on Ferocity- I have a Vraes using the best 3 AP 2H sword he can wrap his mitts around, and he just runs here and there with +2MP from BoS, wrecking things with FEROCITY 4. He can only swing 4 times before he runs out of SP, but Sacrifice Kyera keeps him going. He has CB 2, but that's used only if Kyera can't use Sac bc she ran out of MP in Retribution.
Taking FEROCITY past level 1 practically requires you to take Sac Kyera with you. The entire group must be built to accommodate this thirsty beast of a talent, but it's well worth it IMO.
