All of them are available to free version except Alien Vet, Bodyguard, Scout, and Templar Officers. Basically, all Wild Zone officers are off limits to free version, while you can recruit any officers that come from Palaces.

You'll now automatically be protected from trade embargoes imposed by those factions.

Yep, as I said before... Higher military ranks for a faction will make it so they offer more high paying contracts, and completing contracts will award bonus reputation. However, contracts offered will also be more difficult, so only get a high military rank if you are prepared for that. Also, I suspect higher military rank lowers the prices of things in stardocks (ships, torpedoes, etc.), but I'm not entirely sure.

lol No, having Death Warrants doesn't put a gun to your head. A Death Warrant is basically a bounty hunter license. You'll be offered higher paying assassination and capture contracts, and you'll be offered them more frequently. Also, you get more XP by taking sides in a Duel of Assassins or Spy Battle conflict if you have a Death Warrant with your target's enemy.

I see very wierd choice of wording by the devs like the way i interpreted the death warrant the very first time i played is " you are warranted to die by our hand"
