It's coded by Cory Trese with nasty Xeno of course it's a horror game Seriously though when I came up with Silence Broken I was thinking about how after the great exodus and everyone dispersed across various quadrants of the galaxy with no contact for centuries the Jump Gates were now providing a means for humanity to reconnect and the long silence of isolation had been broken. I meant for it to convey a sense of hope and renewal not horror...guess I missed there lol Similar suggestions from that viewpoint Out of Darkness Connections New Genesis When you put it that way, I like it more. Has to be kind of a first-glance impression though, which is what makes this really hard.

This would be easier if we knew SOMETHING about the story... Ahem.

This would be easier if we knew SOMETHING about the story... Ahem. Ahem. Sorry Can't share many details. I hate spoilers. The one I can say ... Shalun will not appear in this story. This is a story of the Star Traders, their politics, their machinations, their madness. Something like that would only happen in a Templar game

Those "Art leaks" that happen on a frequent basis show you love sharing details and spoilers. ETA's on the other hand,,,

How about... Star Traders: Evolved? It describes in one word both the fact that big changes are happening in the universe (discovery of hypergates) and that the mechanics are not just a clone of the last STRPG.

resistor - interesting, but it sounds like a game about evolution ... something like Simlife or an alien game. The subtitle is not intended to, in any way, indicate that there is an evolution from one game to the next. We trust that players of the original ST RPG will get that by looking at the screenshots, and if they love ST RPG, they will at least look at a game with a similar title. The Star Traders: <subtitle> is for new players who have never encountered the game before. Trying to say something about how it has improved from the original has the same issue as saying Star Traders 2. Just my brainstorming on the subject

I really like the EVOLVED idea. good one resistor. Some other ideas: Star Traders: Ascending Worlds Star Traders: Emerging Worlds Both of these hint at multiple quadrants, 'fog of war' discovery, political ascension

Hehe, I liked it as well. Unfortunately, I've asked you all to take part in an impossible task. There will not be many names that have the exact right ring to them. I appreciate everyone participating. I hope you don't mind that if it isn't perfect, it can't be the game's subtitle

What really makes ST2 standout from 4x and the original ST?
The new focus is about the individual Captains and the choices they make. Captains that know every crewman by name, and their dispositions. Captains that stand shoulder to shoulder facing the same risks as those he or she commands. I think the title should appeal to the player's need to control their own destiny. The fine detail the game allows in customization maximizes immersion.
We can't use "Captains Courageous" due to movie/book rights, something similar may capture the imagination.
Number 1 is my current favorite.
1. Star Traders: Rise of the Captains
2. Star Traders: Starship Command 3. Star Traders: New Frontiers 4. Star Traders: Adventures in Hyper-space 5. Star Traders: Quadrant Captains

For people who are completely new, you had better put something in the title that says -- lots of fighting in this game. I was looking for a straight game about trading by browsing in the Google play store -- back when that was a good way to find games -- and found ST. Loaded it up, and thought. Curses! This is about Pirate Battles in Space. Not what I was looking for. I want an economic sim game. NEXT. Then in a few weeks or months, I thought to myself -- now where was that game with all the Space Pirates? I feel like some Space Pirates now.
I remember somebody's google play review of ST:4X saying -- I dunno why they called the game Star Traders, as there is no Trading here.
The problem here isn't so much that people who don't like fighting will get a game they don't like, but people who like fighting a whole lot will think that ST2 is a drearily boring old economic simulation game, dry as it gets, and all math-y like they don't like, and miss out on one of the truly great gaming experiences of their lives.
