If you want to try something different and interesting, stay in the Tunnels a long time. You will never get easier money (outside of hacking, if you do such things) than capturing and assasinating Los V Tunnel rats for Flynn. So raise enough cash for whatever you always wondered about. If you do this it is fine to refuse jobs from Flynn that do not pay enough. The taxi to the NBZ will not vanish no matter how many jobs you decline. Indeed, I couldn't get my Fennian rep to significantly decline either.

But apparantly Fallen doesn't agree .... maybe make it part of how nasty your economy setting is?

If the goal is to have you come out with a certain amount of cash, or bonuses at the end of the tunnels graduation could solve that.

I think you should stay down there fighting Los V tunnel rats until you learn how to fight. This will take some people a whole lot longer than others to figure out.

If that was the case I don't think I'd ever get a Cybersword out of the tunnels. I've yet to be able to run one successfully on any but the easiest of settings. I know you claim they are easier than shooters but not for me.

I know you claim they are easier than shooters but not for me. Very puzzling. You must either: a) be running towards your enemies instead of letting them come to you b) not be taking note of how many squares you need to be away from your enemies so that they will run right up to you. i.e. dogs (any) -- ganger shooters (3), ganger bosses (5). You position yourself the correct number of squares away, they run right up to you, you try to kill them. If you don't succeed, you run outside of their attack range -- so 3 squares for the ganger shooters 5 for the bosses and just 1 for all melee opponents. Repeat until everybody is dead.

grävling nice in theory, but I to often seem to get dumped into combats where the shooters are at close to their optimal range so don't close with me or else I'm in an area where my movement options are severly limited. Also the fact that melee attacks are not allowed into diagonal squares makes my life as a shooter easier as well as the fact that while firearms have an optimum range they are still capable of effective attacks at other ranges while the poor melee shmuck has to get himself situated right next to and directly facing his opponent. I can maneuver my gun toting knights and runners to prevent the majority of melee attacks while pecking away at the most dangerous opponents, often from a safe distance. Once I get my current Gunslingers AP to 12+ on a consistent bases he will be a real nightmare for just about any enemy. Decided to try out the HPX 59 with him and only it's AP cost of 6 prevents it from being totally unbalancing.

Maybe you are not putting enough XP into stealth, then? The red hatted bosses do indeed often get a first shot on you until your AP is such that you always have the initiative on them. But the more stealth you have the further away you will start from them, so eventually they are just too far away. Before then, well, that is what you do with your first move. Move yourself so that the red hatted boss is 5 squares away in a direct line -- or '4 and one over' so he will run right up beside you. Then kill him with your taser glove.
If you are a CyberKnight, your priority in killing should be -- things with more Athletics than you have, things with more AP than you have, shooters, everybody else.

!!!!! I didn't know Stealth kept you further from the enemy at the start of a fight. Hmmm. And it is not in the manual either. I wonder if Athletics contributes to this as well. When Cory and Fallen wake up they will tell us ...

I've always argued that. But apparantly Fallen doesn't agree .... If we work together he can't hold out long. If the tunnels is part of the tutorial, it makes perfect sense that they pay more. Your target audience for the tutorial is the very person who will need the extra cash to play through the game. Its like a buffer for error for the more casual gamers. They buy the wrong thing, or dont keep track of their amount, they arent totally crushed, and they still learn something. In the nbz things are more 'real' and reflect the game setting more accurately. Now if the story was something other than a tutorial then maybe so. Or since the tunnels are so important to the commerce of the zone maybe they should pay more, but again the 'tutorial' role of MNB lends itself to an 'easier' game style and I think extra creds is one of the easier ways to do that. In the end XP are really more important than creds. AP and athletics are so significant if you fail to invest in them, creds or no creds, the game will cause you some suffering.

jclarksprint - thanks for sharing the opinion. If we work together, we can hold them off
