ntsheep pretty much summed it up. Your ability to write characters is fantastic, and your plots equally so. Whatever you move onto, I'm sure it'll be just as incredible and I look forward to it. Simply put, you should be a professional writer.

I am simply so happy Cerberus is done. This thing was taking up so much of my time that I feel epic right now. I mean WOW ... It's DONE. If I want to polish it further I have to fix the spelling, fix some language, some continuity and pacing. I will definitely expand the last fight of Thirteen with the Narvidians so it is a lot more epic. I mean, really, after all that it deserves a few more pages of serious awesomeness. I feel I treated Stryker a little too much like a Jack-in-the-Box. Dead ... semi-dead ... DEAD but not quite. I'm already five pages into the Supervillain book. Though, since not following a schedule, I'm slumming with it. rabid

I want to take a moment and thank everyone who stuck with me through the past year. I am not exaggerating when I say that without a small audience for the book, I would not have finished it.
You humble me.

Signifying my moving on to other things. Avatar change. Goodbye bluish computer face. You shall be missed.

Kinda reminds me of Skyrim...
What're you up to, now?

Kinda reminds me of Skyrim... What're you up to, now? Hmm, that and also a Chaos Knight. Working on a few different projects. One of them a super-soldier trapped in a world of magic. He has to come to grips with magic and how easily it is used to subjugate and inflict control on individuals. Except ... him being from a dimension with a 'frequency' (haven't found a better word for it yet) that doesn't match this one .... he's immune to direct magical attacks. (as in fireballs fade before striking. Lightning bolts fizzle. Magical death spells go poof. Magical energy blasts go around him or, like lightning, fizzle. On the other hand, he can't be healed by magic ... which is a HUGE disadvantage). Of course, there are ways for magic to screw him. Drop rocks on him as long as they aren't materialized by magic, illusion magic to cover pitholes, and all manner of non-directional effects. I'm enjoying it. rabid

Today I came to the sad/mixed feeling conclusion that I had to remove CERBERUS from the forum.
The question is: why?
As I've continued to fiddle with the story, and with the ramifications of the legal aspects involved in publishing it as a commercial work, I've had to completely rewrite the novel. Simply put, the CERBERUS in this forum had a lot of Trese Brother Intellectual Property.
The one I currently have in my wordprocessor does not.
Thus,
1. The language spoken by the characters is different. 2. The names of the characters are different. 3. The identifying terminologies are different 4. The names of places are different. 5. The names of technologies are different. 6. The weapon names are different. 7. Scenes WILL eventually be different as I add, or remove, details. 8. The proofing is considerably more advanced.
Thus, it is simply not the same work. To avoid any sort of conflicts with contracts, etc, it had to go.

It was a masterpiece, goddamn it!

I hate waking up to bad and sad news. I understand the why, but wish for a different outcome. Good luck with your plans for taking it in a direction beneficial for you. It was one of the best pieces of short story sci fi I have ever read. It will truly be missed.

rabidbite -- Why not asking the TB's to let you use their Work, under the footnote that this Cerberus Version you recently removed won't be used anywhere else by you? I mean, it'd add some attention to their Work (As it can't deserve all...) and in turn would you (and us!) keep the Story posted, possibly drawing even more People to TB and to your Work, which THEN could add you some revenue because people think "Wow, if the first Thing this Guy made is that epic, and the Games that this novel is centered around are just as epic, what about that book this fella published?"... ... You see the Sense in this Scream for Help?

You see the Sense in this Scream for Help? Andrew and I are in constant communication. As Cerberus is 'non canon' it cannot be commercially published because of the need to protect the 'shalun-verse'. Cory and Andrew have -every- right to protect their IP so they can make a buck. They have families to feed. So, the only way for me to move forward was to remove all Trese Brother Intellectual Property. That has two benefits. 1. It makes the story aspects completely mine. No one has any more say on it. 2. It means I keep the royalties. No quarterly reports to keep track off for the next 10 years. It also has some weaknesses. 1. It doesn't benefit The shalunverse at all. Which was one of the things I wanted to do. 2. Doesn't enjoy any sort of market boost by being associated with Trese brothers. If I can sell 10,000 copies at $6. I'll have enough money to keep me going for 1 more year, and 1 more book. But, truthfully? If I make $1000 off Cerberus, that will be a surprise. I mean, independent writer? 1st book? No previous experience? Niche genre? Yeah, probably screwed. rabid

Your not screwed, the fans you have made here will support you no matter what! Never give up, never surrender ;-)
As for protecting the "Shalun verse", comic book writers constantly screw with the established verse and call it a "what if scenario"

16 full chapters have been finished to my satisfaction. About twice that number to go, but we're moving along quickly.
