Can Honor be used to recruit new Templars (really want my Hydra) or just wargear and equipment?
Also any restriction on choice of Captain?

Yes and no. I figure we should be able to play pretty much however we want.

Ah, sorry! Didn't get around to typing up the awards yet. My idea is this; all difficulties from normal up are ok. The catch is you will get more points for playing at a higher level.
E.g. Normal is 1 point per campaign completed Hard and Crazy are 2 points per campaign Brutal is 3 points per campaign.
What do you guys think? I've brainstormed a butt-load of awards that can be achieved. Hopefully it'll let everyone compete together.

I've kicked off a Crazy level captain ... I shoulda kicked off Hard if I knew that Crazy and Hard were the same difficulty <grin> ... it's all good. I just wish the Tutorial squad had more than just the 2 soldiers and 2 scouts - a 3rd scout and 3rd soldier would have been GRAND

Part one - introducing the squad Captain Doofus looked around the scraggly bunch of rookie knights in front of him and shook his head in disgust. Two soldiers, and two scouts, geared up and ready to deploy. At least that's what it said on the mission briefing he had on his commpad. He studied the commpad one more time. "My Gods, girls, how the hell did you make it out of puberty, let alone through basic training? I've been tasked with babysitting you through the next few tours, and I'm wondering if I should just go lone wolf and leave you all to your wetnurses"
Pvt Swift piped up "Sir, I am a girl, ehem, a woman, and I scored the fifth highest in my class."
Doofus looked through the notes. "Swift. Swift. Ah yes, your class had 6 students and you only beat a cadet Hawk. Oh look, Pvt Hawk, you're in my squad too."
"I was shot in the leg by a door laser, sir, otherwise I would have scored higher" piped up Hawk.
"The door laser you mentioned was just a motion sensor to determine your position in the simulation", Pvt Grunt interjected.
"It must have been ultra amplified", Hawk mumbled.
Doofus turned to Grunt and Cool. "Hmm, and you're my two soldiers. Really? Grunt and Block are the two call signs you want to go by?
"What, no", Pvt Cool squeaked, "on the form, it said 'Callsign', and I wrote down 'Cool', because it would be cool to get one. That's not what I want for a callsign sir."
Doofus just shook his head and tuned out the babble coming from Pvt Cool. "Okay men ... and woman, we've got our first orders. We are to board the Wraithbone, a cruiser that should still be on patrol. No response to hails, and unusual readings on the scanner. We dock in 25 minutes. Any questions?"
Pvt Cool looked up and timidly raised his hand, "err Sir"
"What is it Private?"
"Which way does the helmet go? I haven't actually used one before ..."

Nice post slayernz! I added up a list of my awards. They are all pretty much stuff that I thought up, and I would be open to critique and/or suggestion. So go take a gander and let me know what you guys think!

I looked at the list of awards ... it is probably a little tricky tracking the awards by mission or campaign. For example, most kills by squad member per campaign - I prefer to get to the end and see what I've ended up with. Right now, I have just completed campaign #2, and I didn't take note of the number of kills at the end of Campaign #1. So far Captain Doofus is sitting at 61 kills with 9 battles down. Grunt did the first two missions of the tutorial before being stood down because he was so out of breath from trying to keep up with the scouts, he decided to take up a comms role. That is, if he can figure out how to turn the unit on.
Swift has 52 kills (9 battles) Hawk has 47 kills (9 battles) Fleet has 44 kills (7 battles). Pvt Fleet failed his marksmanship class, but could run faster than his colleagues (usually away from the simulated Xeno's). He got given a choice - join Captain Doofus' squad as a scout, or be assigned as security for the most recent exploration expedition on a backwater lava planet deep in the outer rim.

So we start the actual challenge on Monday, correct?

Yeah, we should be starting on Monday. We can modify the awards to be less intensive, but I thought kills/mission would be ok because someone posts one of their kills and we can easily know over/under.

No problem with awards, just doing a run thru to see if I can actually compete on hard.
