Can someone please shoot me! Got through the Tutorial with my new Squad on Brutal. Even did Extermination with a brand new Hydra Specialist. Forgot to mark down or screen shot the total numbers of kills for my squad before starting Stardock Raid. Zipped through the first level no problem shooting or frying everyone, no melee, but have no idea where my kill totals are since I didn't track things before starting. Looks like I'll be deleting this squad and starting over again.

oh that's a bummer ... at least you could do the mission-based tracking for the first campaign ... and track 2nd and 3rd campaign results accordingly. you you can't get the handful of points allocated for achieving total kills and stuff per campaign, but that's only a small portion.

Ok, who let the xenos know we were having a challenge. They have been sending in the bulletproof ones with the really sharp claws.

Haha sorry to hear that rsgong. I've been slow to start, just on mission 4 of the tutorial so far. Between this, the AoP alpha, work, and playing MWO I've had very little time for anything else in my life.

Well, no Ranger Rave for me in Stardock Raid. See how I do through the rest of the challenge. If I finish quickly enough, I'll probable do it again to see if I can do better.

I just finished the first mission in stardock raid and have been going all melee from the start. It makes it a little more tactically challenging (especially on the defense) but I've been having a lot of fun. Managed to not lose anyone yet, either!
So far I've been boosting up Warrior and Evasion in equal measure, and avoided boosting quickness for AP. That let me boost up all of my troopers Strength, which will have the dual benefit of giving me increased defense and melee rating. Now, with my entire unit kitted out with thunder gloves and one soldier running powered armor, my squad of berserkers are punching their way through the opposition.

Status update on Captain Power and his Soldiers of the Future:
Stardock Raid completed successfully with no losses or retries. In the next Tour of Duty, morale is faltering among the scouts. There is grumbling about Blastarr, the new Neptune trooper, "hogging all the kills" and being favored with a heavy neptune cannon while they're still wearing their basic scout armors on this extended deployment. Captain Power needed to take corrective action after Blastarr was left with his back exposed to the xenos on multiple occasions. Threats of being benched like a useless veteran soldier finally made the scouts fall in line and the mission is progressing smoothly.

On my new squad with Captain Hardass, he is rationing the team until he can invest in a Neptune specialist too. There is something to be said about having a Neptune Specialist on your squad. Of course it's a bit hard to hear over the continuous sound of heavy weapons fire.

Dammit, I knew I shouldn't have posted that everything went smoothly! The "Ridge Freighter" mission seemed so easy, and there was this whole map to explore... I figured there must be more to this mission than stated. There was. A 30 turn time limit that I'd missed in the briefing. OOOOOPS. No more IRONMAN for me on this campaign :-( ... and ANOTHER one. This time there's no indication anywhere that you have a limited time to get to the airlock after placing the charges on the "Logicus Lifter". Be warned!

Captain Hardass was not the brightest leader on the block, and unfortunately selected Beserker when he meant to select Neptune. He was relieved of command. The next squad needed more experienced leadership, so Major Problem stepped up. He carefully picked out his squad of lowly badasses. Private Parts is an enthusiastic soldier, his interests include Xeno dissection, picture books, and the number 3 (he proudly managed to count that high only last week). Corporal Punishment is my highest ranking scout. He used to sleep with a large sniper rifle, until it kicked him out for hogging the blankets. Private Eye is my second scout. He accepts his role to "Cover Private Parts until he can learn to get his speed up".
I WILL get my Neptune specialist!

Should we extend the challenge?
I'm guessing more than a few of us have been engaging in some piracy this week...

S'ok. I finished before midnight yesterday. I am surprised that there has been no comments since the challenge officially ended. Even johndramey, the creator of the challenge has been silent. The zenos must have overwhelmed him as he rushed to complete it.
