I started early because I was just keen. I'll start a new "official" Captain on campaign opening day BTW, I did get this as a Lone Wolf ...

:DLOL. The good news is you can keep better track of your kills per campaign now.

Finished my run-through. 562 kills total. But some scenarios I ran to the extraction without excessive engagements. Captain had highest total with 188.

Oh ... Crazy. You get bonus bragging rights if you top it in Brutal tho

I think the different difficulties need a larger range in scoring. Maybe 1, 3, 5, 7 or something.
Right now other than saying how hardcore a player you are the points for Brutal don't really justify the extra danger.
As has been pointed out in the challenge thread playing on an easy difficulty will allow you to really clean up on the points for more experienced players who don't have to push their limits just to survive.

Of course playing, playing below normal would cost all chance at 'The Stalin Step.' Made me sad thinking about buying up all those extra troops just to feed them all to Xenos for a few points anyway. *sniff*

I can adjust the points for the other difficulty levels, but I have it set this way for a reason. I wanted to make it easier for lower-skilled players to compete with the more skilled players. Of course all of us could drop it down to Normal and then clean up every mission, but that would be kind of going against the spirit of the challenge. However, if everyone thinks I should adjust the points I'll be happy to. Since we are officially starting tomorrow just post up here and I'll check in the morning. If the consensus seems to be "change" then I'll just modify the point values in the morning

I am fine with the point values as they are.

My vote obviously is to change it.

Hmm, well, I think slayernz will vote to change as well so I'll go ahead and change it. Also, about the mission/campaign scores. For everything except the single/double/triple Templar awards it's based on finishing a complete campaign. For the single/double/triple templar awards I thought it would be better to make it just a single mission. Playing through a full campaign without one, two, or three of your squad would really screw up your chances for most of the other awards. And, as I've said before, if you have any other ideas for awards please post them here. I'm always open to adding things to the challenge that will make it more fun for everyone.

johndramey do the campaign awards include the tutorial? There has been some differing views on that. I thought you meant the campaigns after the tutorial. Could you clarify that for us?

Sure, sorry. Tutorial does not count for scoring. It's just there to give everyone some xp to get their squad customized a little for the actual challenge.
