Agreed. It seems irresponsible to not do so. There could be one or two more planets for the Javat clan to best utilize, seeing that they need planets that aren't on the frontlines. If there are no planets with suitable minerals, there could be a prime system for another of our research centers.
We cannot stress enough to the other factions that we MUST have priority over high quality, low mineral systems. We have a gargantuan responsibility to ensure that research is driven forward at reckless paces- these Xeno aren't going to wait for us to have battlecruisers and carriers for our fleet.

@lixx... if we subsidize, it is 200$ credits. But for a hab, it is definitely worth it. Well, first, think about it this way: it's only 60 extra credits spent(100 extra creds minus CP saved, $30, minus wasted CP on first option, $20, plus wasted CP when subsidizing, $10). That is very very worth it, especially this early in the game.

Ofc... but i do think once our colonies hit 5 pop we should only subsidize factories or mines. By that mark we'd be scraping the barrel.

xdesperado and other noblemen and women of this great nation. I feel that since we are speaking for the entirety of the House, we should have titles befitting our stature (much like Xdesperado's enviable title =) )Perhaps we could discuss what strengths each of us bring to the table, and think of titles that best suit us. Personally I think I would be serving House Thulun best by acting as an ambassador and alliance whip, plying our will upon the Steel Song and Javat clans, in a respectful, eloquent manner.

I think it would be interesting if the rest of you had titles as well, as for my own it is entirely my own invention and my position as Minister of War is simply me taking the liberty of appointing myself a cabinet position. If the rest of you feel I've overstepped I'm sure representatives from the institute of Truth will be happy to convince you otherwise Seriously though create a title appoint yourselves positions in government, have fun with the RP thats a large part of what this is about. Speak up not only here inour discussion thread but also in the main game thread...their is more of us than of them, if we can't win them with sweet words and comforting platitudes then drown them out with our combined volume. We are supreme amongst the the House's, never let them forget this, we offer consessions only when it will lead to our getting what we really want.

My esteemed colleagues. The time has come again for debate and decision concerning what is best for the alliance. Templar Command has asked of us these things yet again:
1 - What should I be building? Continue with the industrial plans, or shift over to Colony ships? 2 - If a colony ship is finished, who get’s what? Previous negotiations touched on this issue, but I need it ironed out in the event of a house finishing a colony ship. 3 - Next research? 4 - Anything else?
Belay all further production and begin constructing Colony Hives Research should be turned to planetary development We should take the time to hash out who will be getting which planet, with the discovery of the newest Red Giant, perhaps we couldget that southernmost planet we had hoped for...
Respectfully yours, Ambassador En1gma, Harbinger of Truth and Reason

I put forth the motion that we (Thulun) immediately begin construction of Colony Ship's and move them to front of construction queue. We need to Colonize Tennath forthwith as per accordance with or previous agreement and I urge that we take it upon ourselves to seize the opportunity of colonizing Leiwen without further debate with the other Houses. It is clear that we can out produce them and our initiative and advantage must not be squandered in a futile attempt to appease them and prop up their proliferation of substandard living. Planetary Construction must be focus of research at least until we can rebuild our Trade Halls.

Agreed, Marquis XDesperado. With the advent of this new Red Giant, I can see no reason for us not to simply colonize Leiwen for ourselves.

We may have difficulty with Leiwen. The Javats say the Song should have it, and well, the Song wouldn't just give up on claim to another world. First, though, we must take Tennath!

The Song don't really want it or at least are devided in their interest, it's the rockheads way of trying to usurp our rightful position as heads of the Alliance by pushing for changes in our logical well thought out course of action.
Regardless we can push 2 Colony ships through production faster than they can one so if we have a second Colony already established on Leiwen there will be nothing they can do except frown at us then move on to attending to their own pits.

I shall take a note to forget how badly damaged the Javat fleet is when the Xenos arrive. I suggest you all do the same.
