fallenThe Banned Rep. Is that for any faction planet you have a bad rep with? For example if you have -65 Rep with Javat you won't be able to receive any services on any Javat planet until you buy a pardon? If you are very low on fuel can you buy a pardon on any Javat planet? Better be very careful not to get unpopular with more than one faction.

Just finished watching the Twitch Tv stream for v 1.0.25. If you want allot of concentrated information about ST2 this is the way to go. There will be regularly scheduled streams. Fellow Alpha Testers don't miss out. If you want to ask questions, or comment in real time setting up an account is really fast. Thanks Guys!

John Robinson - the data is exported from the game's database directly. As long as we run an export process, then the wiki will get the latest. This should help save your fingers and wrists from hours of data export manually. You'll have the time instead to write guides and higher level content I will look into seeing if those tables could be sortable, but I doubt it. Maybe secondary tables that are by Grouping, but again, maybe overkill. We'll see how it goes! Hopefully Jobs coming up soon. Terrific design! When I think of the content you added in one year to HoS, there is simply no way to do it manually. I'm also thinking about how big it will grow in 4 years and beyond. Captain C.T. Dummy rates this feature 10 out of 10.

fallen Just took a look. This looks very professional color choices, readability, and what isn't implemented. Really like the speedy lookup alphabetical order. First impressions; Wow I wonder if there is a way to get a printer friendly version? Next thought was; Is there a way to look at the list by Grouping? Not suggestions just the first things that popped into mind.Does this thing self update when you make a change? The data goes into some kind of program? Very cool

What really makes ST2 standout from 4x and the original ST?
The new focus is about the individual Captains and the choices they make. Captains that know every crewman by name, and their dispositions. Captains that stand shoulder to shoulder facing the same risks as those he or she commands. I think the title should appeal to the player's need to control their own destiny. The fine detail the game allows in customization maximizes immersion.
We can't use "Captains Courageous" due to movie/book rights, something similar may capture the imagination.
Number 1 is my current favorite.
1. Star Traders: Rise of the Captains
2. Star Traders: Starship Command 3. Star Traders: New Frontiers 4. Star Traders: Adventures in Hyper-space 5. Star Traders: Quadrant Captains

1) They never get a second job. 2) Yes you can stockpile. Mostly useful for before you promote. If you need specialist Crew, you can recruit them from Contacts. That option balances for the the "single job Crew" restriction. Do you have 5 officers? Yes I have all 5 officers; 2 original, and I promoted 3 they leveled. The thing is they just keep on with the same talent choices they had before. Ok, so unprompted crew don't get second jobs, got it. Why stock pile talent points then? Do they get a different talents to choose from at higher levels, or you end up raising talents you don't need anymore. From reading this thread as a whole. I think you just wait until you find somebody you want more and fire somebody off the crew to hire on the new help? I think you're telling me when I promote a crew dog to an officer they will get a second job? Does it happen right then or when they get to a certain level. I needed officers to reach 5 so I promoted them as soon as I got the message they had leveled. Sorry this is so long, I'm just really confused.

fallen , Cory Trese Howdy pards just cum ofen a long stretch of prospecting looking to raise H in town but wanted to ask a couple questions before I hit the saloon. This build is running pretty good I've got 2 more crew that have leveled (already have the officers). 1) I don't need anymore Navigation. I'm wondering what level the crew member must be at before the choice of getting a second job is offered? 2) The two leveled crew mates are continuing to get XP but I haven't spent their Talent points because I want to save them for when they get a second job. Can I stockpile Talent points this way?

You should post that in a Google doc that we can all contribute to Good idea then I could add some nice illustrative screen snaps. We'll get started when I can. (I better make a note of it or I'll forget hahaha).

John Robinson is there anyway to add starting cargo capacity to this table? That's a great idea! I don't know how to do it yet. Cory Trese dumped some sample ship data we can all look at. I must have looked for an hour, and couldn't that thread again.

The original post, and saltin both make some really good points. I still believe that the template system is right and good for the design. But a simpler system might be better. We could even use the existing logic and just remove the player's ability to re-order ABCDE. First, I think the point that seems to keep coming up is a question about WHY which makes sense. As Saltin points out, we have no documentation. Second, it is still possible that we'll have canned one-click-to-play built in auto-templates. Maybe this customization thing is an elite only feature that only the hardcore players use. This discussion is very important. Thanks for contributing. Casual Version: If I understand right it's purpose is to make things easier to play, appeal to a bigger fan base, but not like so many other games, bore players once they learn the canned system that always wins. Elite Version: is my first choice/first purchase great choice. Lots of choices preserves the mystery and wonder of the unknowable universe you guys are creating. I prefer games with huge amounts of customization because it makes me feel more involved in my captain's life. Elite would allow for unpredictable enjoyable combinations that no one would see coming. In HoS I ran many experiments just to see what would happen instead of always building teams to win the game. I've already seen too much of ST2, the absence of the Elite version would make it feel dumbed-down. The genie is already out of the bottle. King Solomon's choice: Two women appeared in his court one day each claiming ownership of a baby. Very well ,he said, "fetch a sword each of you shall have half" One woman feel to her knees begging him not to do it, thus he knew who the real mother was, and she went home with her new born son. Instead of trying to accommodate everything in one child, two children (versions would be best). But I want the first born Elite version first

The skill "Stealth" in ST2 is a Crew skill, not used in Ship Combat. You want Pilot, Navigation, Tactics, Command Thanks! After playing HoS exclusively for the last 2 years. I really don't even know how to play ST-1 anymore. Some distant memory made me think Stealth would help me avoid ship detection during space travel? Ok full points into P, N, T. How does Command help me buckaroos escape?
