That would make it a bit more useful for lower-end starports. Else, there's really little point of that rumor for lower-end ones. Well, not exactly. Keep in mind that Rumors are not just for the player's ship, they're also for the other parts of the game!

Hopefully we were able to thread the needle between the people who dislike save slots/love permadeath and the people who hate permadeath / want saves. Our goal is to maintain the fun parts of the game for everyone who is playing while finding ways to make the game more accessible.

This post has some interesting ideas in it, and some confusing misconceptions that don't match up with the player data from the people playing the game in small ships. Some new players get caught up in the "bigger numbers?!?!?" thing but we're working on better indicators of why get a bigger ship isn't really the answer for most high level players who are playing.
I. We've introduced some very exciting small ship only components and plan to do more.
II. The math is already overwhelmingly in favor of FAST/AGILE ships. We're watching performance levels across all ships, all platforms and analyzing it ship-by-ship and mass-by-mass for effectiveness ratings in both the AI and the player. We will continue to balance and improve.
III. Yes, this is how it works in map tests for encounter rates. Other elements of the combat preamble will be provided by Talents, some of which will be mass limited in the future.
IV. Yes, we're working on this and other exciting things!
Thanks for the post. I sincerely hope you'll try out some small ship games and see how they go. We're seeing a lot of high level players using them exclusively now, banking on their many advantages and specialty builds to maximize game efficiency and win rates.
Thanks for playing!!!

It is Star Trader lingo, like the work "alight" but it means 'ship descend from the air and settle.' still grammatically incorrect

Stunned shows the % of stun (stacking) directly on the character.

Doesn't sound like the same thing, but I appreciate the feedback. We will keep trying to improve. Thankfully I don't worry very much at all about trying to fit the game for "Developers/expert players"

Thanks for the feedback. I am sure there are players who will chime in to help post some advice and strategies for you to use. I do want to point out, immediately, that if you try that Mutiny meta-game you'll find that it works very much against you, and isn't really a viable option. The cost is just too high to your Crew morale and Trait set. The key thing you should be considering, if morale is a problem, is where and who you are landing with. Triggering Mutiny is NOT a good idea, even with the morale bounce the game will not reward you in anyway. You'll end up with worse crew, more likely to abandon and rack up lots of negative Traits. Not a good strat!!! We will keep working to improve the Lore. It sounds like we have failed you in that regard, based on your estimate of how Crew Dogs would think. We will keep trying to improve the thousands of little details in the Lore. Have you see the "Lore Book Volume I" www.dropbox.com/s/hxev05ooli1rp37/Star%20Traders%20Frontiers%20Lore%20Book%20-%20Volume%201.pdf?dl=0

took a few hours, but I have found the root cause.
this one is phenomenally rare, probably one in thousands.
I never would have figured it out without the saved game.
It could only happen in a certain region, when the map spawned that quad map, within a certain numbers of turns from the start.
No matter how rare or weird, it was a bug. Fixed.

That is very interesting feedback. We will keep gathering information about how players play the game and continue to try to improve the game in a way that benefits the maximum number of players.
Sorry you are struggling with Crew combat. We will try harder. Keep in mind that Bleed, Poison, Stun, Pin all have obvious visual effects that you can look for.

thanks for sending in the saved game. I'll try to get you an explanation ASAP.
If you figure it out, just post so I don't spend too much time trying to do a write up.
Thx!

I just mean that if I swap out one of the components, I can make other adjustments to keep the ship competitive.
