Following a fueling, repair, doctor visit on a planet, I hoped over to the other side of the planet and had a failed assassination attempt (mission). While checking 'Missions' to determine if the mission was still active, the app crashed.
Upon restart, I was at the last auto-save state (assuming). Fuel was low, mission active again.
Platform details: Android 3185ab9f29cc71f0 SAMSUNG SM-T710 (Galaxy Tab2)
I can email the game file if you'd like, but could you remind me where they are stored in android-land? Couldn't see at first glance.

But yes, definitely, ST2 is a different game. The setting is different. Hyperwarp has changed some things. The Star Trader's charter is still recognized, but their are limits to that trust. In the game of ST2, all players will face a greater degree of challenge developing strong relationships with all the Factions simultaneously. It is darned hard to get trade permits with multiple Factions [if you don't build for it.] When you start off as De Valtos, you probably won't very many Cadar friends [unless you specifically work for it.] In fact, supporting Cadar friends enough to get Trade Permits may actually hurt your De Valtos friends, reputation, the Contact's influence and so on. ST1 does a lot to discourage this "all Factions are friendly!" result with Trade Permits, Bans, Max Fun Rank rules, etc. ST2 really makes it part of the setting. Compared to ST1, in ST2, the expert player focuses more on their one or two Factions and builds a more meaningful relationships with them. We've traded the ubiquitous Faction Palace for personalized, AI-driven, procedurally generated, game unique, dynamic characters who represent their allegiances relative to your character and who's actions will have real impacts on the game universe in which your character plays. It was a trade we knew we should make, for the good of ST2. Noticed that my Cadar merchant has several Thulun contacts... loving it! My captains skill in discovering contacts while recruiting in smoky bars help, and I get how every contacts interpersonal relationships are gonna make a lot of tough decisions down the road for me. This is going to be a heck of a game...

Is there a way of knowing status of active talent pool prior to engaging in battle? I'm thinking of attacks coming shortly after a previous.... would be helpful to decide to surrender or fight. Or if active talents (once used) could be greyed out, moved to bottom, and have a turn count superimposed?)
Just some thoughts...

Yah, I tinkered a bit trying to figure it out, but when I read a post that the upgrade process wasn't ready for prime time/feedback, I just ditched playing around with it....

I'm playing a dragoon on one of my games on Macbook, when playing with normal sized window (not full screen) the nose of the ship covers the range indicator in the middle. And the strength/damage bars overlap. I'll check what full screen does when I get home... Please do post your resolution. We've seen a few of these bugs at certain aspect ratios. A thousand apologies, played on 3 platforms last night, the Dragoon was on my iPad Air 2 (Retina display, resolution 2048x1546), not the Macbook, but the screenshot is below. Note the overlap of the nose on the range, also the damage bars from the Dragoon overlap the enemy damage bars. PS, the Macbook 13 retina display (2560x1600) was fine, also shown at bottom: iPad Air 2

At this stage, the cooldowns don't bother me. Seems more like a potential balance issue, but we won't know til we have a more complete game.

With the different platforms, for me the #1 issue with playability (1.0.17) is the mission screen. The only way to close is the X in the upper right, and is hit/miss to close the screen (and 50% chance I'll kill my navigation waypoint and send my ship to the 'upper right' of the playscreen.
I know you guys are on it tho. If looking for ideas, the Contacts screen uses an X in the upper right, but there is also a BACK button on the bottom, which I always use on mobile, due to the above issue. Maybe something similar might work for the Missions screen. [EDIT: there isn't an X on the contacts screen, was thinking of somewhere else, but I use a back button instead of the X.... but the point is the same. Maybe the level up screen? *scratches head* can't remember]
Just some thoughts.

Most definitely, the deferred payment missions seem to pay out a larger lump (at least in my experience), but you have to be able to absorb pretty much all of the expenses up front. Makes for a tough mission in the early game. Maybe I should mention something about avoiding them until you get some capital built up. I think it's this new map. Every mission is deferred payment, even after completion. Yuck. Tried 2 different captains 3 different factions, but only as a merchant so far.

Not sure if it is the map or setup or what, but my local contacts kept offering deferred payment for 5 straight missions.... in short, i went broke. Sad, cold day in space tonight.

Update the mission section with a blurb about how the game will be kind to you for a while in the beginning. Left the write up about the 3 s'es as a post-honeymoon-period guide. Idea of a rumor being randomly released between turn 200 - 1000 of Xeno seen in our (or near our) sector, which can be the trigger for higher tensions/stakes/no more mr nice guy mode in the game. Just a thought.

I seem to be having an exceptionally bad run of luck with exploration. Pirates are everywhere and I'm losing crew members faster than I can get off an aimed shot. Not to mention that the goods found are bringing in virtually no profit since I am spending so much to heal my away teams. You might have to buy some disposable red-shirt soldiers and keep a few high level ones for training and getting the real damage off. Then you just heal the favorites and let the rest die off. On the other hand, that's a little complicated for those just getting into the game. That might be a tutorial strategy. Sorry, just thinking in text. can't stop thinking of Galaxy Quest's "crewman #6" references

Yah, there was a crew combat and mutiny situation, not sure which had a problem resolving. Honestly have been going round robin b/n MacBook, iMac, iPad, Galaxy Tab2 8.5 and occasional iPhone; trying to focus on missions/confrontations/retreats with a variety of captains. So except for crashes/hangs/reporting, focus on trying to work through as many situations as I can on a given map.
Glad I'm able to contribute to the bug chasing, this game really is special.

The only thing that worries me is that I think you reported a crash earlier today that I didn't get. Do you have a second machine? Or just that one Mac Book Pro? Yah, have an iMac 27 Mac OS hockey info here: 85C202B8-88D2-56A4-BB32-630D5D7273CF Craig Rittenhouse's iMac that I use during the day, might have been the crash you were referring to
