The images show here now. Not sure why they didn't before. You would get little blank thumbnails, but when you clicked on them, nothing happened. ah good. suspect that they were still being uploaded at the time or such... and thx @corytrese for your quick attention to the crashes uncovered... you guys are the best. I'm going to finish the missions, mothball the captain, and start a new template/captain to chase missions/battles/exploration from a different angle . Really starting to get the hang of the upgrading crew, navigation tricks (ex. galaxy maps will show mission locations); figuring out mixes of jobs and levels for officers (and upgrades of crew). The game is awesome. Can't wait to add/focus on shipbuilding/upgrading, politics portions of the alpha proper, this really is a game that you can't put down!

That's the same bug as before, it is against an invalid Faction. I already fix it. If you send me your saved game, I can repair it so you can complete the mission. That "Quit Unexpectedly" window is *not me* and you don't need to send crash reports to Apple for me to get them. I got 4 of the Mission one from a MacBookPro12,1 (10.12.3) cool. glad you are getting the info. Late at night, I tend to play on the MacBook, so will probably be me Not concerned with fixing my current game, I figure I'll play till enough factions hate me (since i can't play politics yet) and just restart. But thx for the offer. Yah, figured it was an invalid faction related error when I saw the faction sign that isn't in the game. And that the bug is something you could fix early. I'm just going to finish my current run on existing missions and then restart anew. I'll skip over this errant mission, and just play out the rest. :-)

MintDragon None of these images open for me. Do you need to set permissions to make them publically visible? Also, pretty sure that sending crashes to Apple won't help Cory Trese because they aren't sending them to him. And might annoy Apple. apple crash reporting process being followed per Cory, he just wanted them to be sent through them. Not sure of the images tho, they are just posted to my postimage.org account. The ST2 folder is here... postimg.org/gallery/dbo8ikbw/Let me know if you still can't access them...

guessing from the text that I have to discover something in the wilderness, but it isn't defined yet! Tried going out in the wilderness, but could only find some rare metals. Perhaps a dead end for now?

not doing anything out of the ordinary, on turn 1752 accepted a mission (actually was going to open and look at the mission details), and the program hung. Screenshot is below, crash report submitted to Apple.
Restarted game and was able to accept the mission...

After one round of barricading, noticed the status button was available (wanted to check how much I was to be paid, as I'm out of funds). Upon pressing the status button (while round 2 barricade is being displayed), the game crashed.
Sent crash report via Apple, occurred approx 10 prior to post.

I have 13 missions accepted, 13 successful, but no 'missions completed' listed in captain awards. Did I miss something? Is 2 part mission considered 2 missions, but only 1 completion?

Those filters sound pretty much perfect to me. You guys are on it. Added 7 filters to that screen for next release! The filters make it much easier to upgrade, much less of a burden... good job!

didn't want to create a new thread for a couple thoughts on Template Creation UI: - Map, Template, Captain (game) deletion - would be great to have a confirmation window
- Button Location consistency. Creating a new template (top button), Launch template (top button); BUT then Create new captain (top), Launch Captain (lower right). A couple times I went into 'Load Captain' screen from the main screen, selected a captain, then pressed the top button thinking to launch, which started another new captain.
- Starting a new captain brings you to the template screen; New Template button (top); I scroll thru the templates and decide that they aren't close to what I want, but once I've selected any template, the new template button goes away and becomes the launch button.

Profession seems to make the most sense to me. Purely cosmetic, but if the Page Header (Customize Template) has sub text instructions for the player to prioritize these five starting areas, and lets them know the higher the priority, the more starting benefits (higher level captain, larger ship budget).
Or something like that, it might clear it up.

I've had a few times on the planet wishing I could take a peek at my missions (did I complete them all?, how many left? do I have a jump coming up, so I should refuel?) In the current revision 1.0.17, I was thinking that it could be to the left of the status button in the upper right (or be another button in the status area).
Not too annoying, but right now I have to go back to orbit to check.
(Is it the same with rumors?)

Confirming that ST2 1.0.17 can be installed on 10.12.x without a workaround needed (hurray!). Security settings (Security & Privacy/General) needs only to be set to allow apps to be download from 'App Store and identified developers. Great job Cory
Tested on iMac 27" and MacBook Pro 13 Retina

Starting credits is determined by difficulty. Captain Booster checkbox grants +$4,000 Your ship choice has no impact at this time. I thought MintDragon said that if you prioritise ships and then pick a small one you get to keep the difference in cash between the tiny ship you bought and the monster ship you could have bought. I had been using only one or two templates, so my mistake. I thought if set ship to high priority, and chose a small ship, it gave me extra cash. My boo boo, but I am playing on basic difficulty, so after all was said and done, I had 10-20K in credits. Also noticed that higher priority for profession gave me better rewards for missions. Again, might be by chance, but maybe some others can clarify...

Thanks for the post. General Crew automatically Level up Jobs. They do not level Talents. Officers and the Captain do not level up Jobs, do not level up Talents. We will probably add a button to auto-learn Talents for General Crew on the Pay Crew screen. Regarding mixing respec and patrol -- that's definitely not what Patrol status is for. That status system is fully baked and won't be changing, too foundational. We will offer respec/retrain but it will be completely 100% not related to Patrol status. I don't know if the average player will want auto-job and auto-talent on Officers. Maybe they will. Yah, sorry... Talents/Jobs/Skills mixup, lack of sleep caused... Respec/Retrain being available (even if xx credits each time) actually solves one part of the issue, and makes Auto-learn make even more sense. An auto-learn function solves the other part of the issue. Glad to hear that you guys had thought it through! In that case, the Patrol wouldn't have to be a one-way ticket, nor break any game mechanics in place. I know that in my 'type' of game, I wouldn't use an auto-learn for officers, but respec of some type would be welcomed. Re-spec/Re-Training could also be restricted to being on a planet that has a training facility, kind of like exchange, re-fueling or doctor works now. But someday, I also envision having a 12 person pirate crew on a small ship with long range, being able to fire a pulse weapon that disables a ship; if my skills are good enough, I could board, fight the boarding party, use my discovery skills to loot the ship (found a map with a hidden sector!~), and make a hasty retreat... In that case, I'd want to manually manage the crap out of everybody. But that's probably my lack of sleep talking as well..
