Not trying to be a bear...
I have been quiet about the g+ and ladders, but I have zero interest in them and the automatic push is a little too much. Please reverse course. Causes the game to get stuck especially if no inet connection. Just get a waiting symbol. It will finally go to the game after a while.
At least offer us an option to disable it.
Thanks, Crimson

fallenI don't have time this morning for booting up the lap top. But when you are moving along and have an event.. "what was that" prior to or after a battle. If you try to move further. The text soaks up clicks. This one isn't a big deal but thought it might be something.

Cory TreseWhen the text is going through "the story" and you click else where its ignored. The double click thing is probably it though. You click once you see a circle you have to double click to make him move. I think its mostly impatience on part of the user if they are trying to play like say metriod.... Crimson

The quick start by grävling with the strategy of building a character worked out well.

I think it would be best if you made it customizable where the user can redefine the hot keys.

Thats what i was trying to say. If you don't double click it may be interperated As a missed click. The text also ignores clicks if you are trying to move ahead.
Thats the only thing i can see where the game lag from text /and double click move method makes you feel like its missing clicks.
I added the rest just because i noticed looking at it with fresh eyes.

Cory TreseHaven't played hos in ages. But do have it on steam. I played the First battle for testing. I think that i know what the guy is talking about. Its the double clicking that is usefel on touch screens but not so useful when moving on a lap top or pc. A confirmation of do you want to move here "optional" setting may be in order. Also a way to speed up the texts and/or movements would help on pc. I notice that when you hover over active talents it doesn't describe the talent and the only way to see this is by clicking on the talents button. A window pops up that doesn't have a scroll bar. With a lap top and touch mouse makes it even more difficult. Anyway, i hope this helps. Crimson

As an add on idea
A map maker for players to make there dream maps and general enemy starting possibilities.
Ie pick layout number of planets etc.
The player should be able to save maps locally and also send them for consideration into the main game
Or autogenerator of maps based on certain inputs. Ie number of planets number of resources number of enemies etc.

Haven't played star traders 4x in a while. No time working alot. But i noticed changes in the way the game reacted after closing and opening. I could do my moves. Not hit end turn. Close game. Open it redo moves hit end turn. I noticed this more with xeno production. But seemed like i would get swarmed with xenos regen. I think it has more to do with randomized dice rolls they have set up with the take turn. And somehow this gets re hard coded with major effects. I was running a very negative economy at the time so not sure if -4000 and -800 made a difference. I am running a stock photon 4g (mb855). I think abysmal has one too. And may have seen this. jurijThe trese brothers [ fallen(Andrew) and Cory Trese (Corey)] constantly update the games due to feedback on these forums. Startraders rpg and cyber knights are probably the most polished. All of the games are works in progress but those 2 have the most fun because of being more fully developed. As for the ios version i am not sure of the differences. This is more due to apples restrictive nature on updates as ie more pain to push updates, so they tend to consolidate several updates into a single ios update. I would say google play is the fastest updated followed by amazon app store. I thought i would play these on kindle so i have some of their games on both platforms. Star traders 4x is a new game and is getting more polished with every update. As to your main question the forum here will be your best resource. There are many guides and discussions on the best methods. Of course playing and experimenting also help. The rumors will be different but a shortage rumor can lead you to profit massively on a trade. Or you may run into aliens etc. Criminal actions are killing a factions ship or trading during a trade ban or blockading a factions space or planet. You can't always make every faction happy. I tend to pick 3-4 and i am negative on the others. Each faction hates the other but the syndicates tend (not always) work with each other and the great houses tend to work with each other. They all have rivalries amongst each other which makes the game very complex. You also have independants working with the various factions. So on certain jobs you may get -rep because a faction was posing as an independant. Ignore is ok as long as you aren't in said ships area. Acknowledge is proper against. A ship is in its own territory. But if you gave illegal goods they may search and take them from your ship. Usually ignore is used if you have illicit goods and don' t want to be stopped. This can still lead to battle. Surrender can lead to confiscation of all goods or death because you are at the mercy of the other ship. Depending on difficulty level. Higher levels of death this option leads to basically suicide. Especially if your a criminal. Fleeing during a battle has a better chance most times. However If you have a trade permit with the faction boarding (surrender) this can be a good option as you keep your loot. From pirates and bounty hunters. But be sure the text says that before choosing surrender. Best Regards, Crimson
